Stepping Stone Hospice: The lucky recipient of R10 000 in West Pack’s cash-giveaway campaign

A regular supporter of Stepping Stone Hospice, Tracy-Lee Manning, together with the West Pack Lifestyle Centre in Alberton, surprised hospice this week with a R10 000 donation – a direct result of Tracey-Lee nominating Stepping Stone Hospice as her charity of choice in West Pack’s festive cash-giveaway campaign.

“Stepping Stone Hospice has become very close to my heart,” said Tracy at the handover of her winnings on Tuesday morning, 12 December, by representatives of West Pack Lifestyle Head Office at Stepping Stone Hospice’s In-Patient Unit in New Market Park. “I admire the work, the care and the love that happens here and I am truly thankful for Tersia and her team, who touch so many lives.”

Earlier this year, Stepping Stone Hospice CEO Tersia Burger was invited to address the Social Club ladies at Café la Plume in Glenanda. Tersia’s heartfelt talk about hospice had such an impact on everyone there, including café owners Tracy-Lee and her mom, Vernice Cockerill, that these ladies have since become regular supporters of Stepping Stone.

From generously catering for hospice functions free of charge and regularly dropping off meals for patients at the organization’s In-Patient Unit, to attending hospice events with their family and friends, as well as encouraging their coffee-shop patrons to donate second-hand goods to The Charity Shop, Tracy and Vernice’s commitment to Stepping Stone has been unwavering.

For Tersia Burger, Tracy’s win is an acknowledgment by a higher power of her kindness and generosity of spirit: “This couldn’t have happened to a more giving person. I truly feel that this is Tracy’s reward for all the good she does and continues to do for us and others.”
