On 11 December 2014, CaSIPO together with partners met with the Eastern Cape Department of Health. The main objective of this meeting was to build capacity and strengthen organisations, managing structures with the South African Government.
Approximately 100 people from all around South Africa, mainly Eastern Cape, came down and all congregated at the ICC (International Conference Centre) in East London, chaired by Dr P.H Maduna and attended by the honourable MEC for Health of the Eastern Cape Dr Phumza Dyantyi.
Reporting on the event Dr P.H Maduna covered a wide range of themes, from clearly mapping the way forward on how to work together which were mainly emphasised by the three aspects.
Firstly, service delivery, making sure it’s faster more efficient and much more accurate. Another thing was engaging in partnerships & specifically meaningful partnerships that benefit the other and that are too aligned to one another.
Secondly, there was a big emphasis also on specific interventions that must be monitored, in terms of a starting date and ending date because at the end of the day that become vital to the monitoring of a specific campaign or project that is in motion.
Thirdly, concluding on the above two points mentioned it was stated that a database for NGO’s becomes crucial and that is what Dr Maduna presented the guests with, explaining how the data base will work and how you will be able to see the different NGO’s from different districts in case you want to get hold of them, and all of this can be done from your mobile phone, tablet or laptop by logging onto the website and following the specific steps from there.
