Art with Heart…for Hospice will honour 30 years of HPCA (Hospice Palliative Care Association) supporting hospices with the theme ‘The Pearls of Palliative Care’, to raise much-needed funds for the organization.
An online auction and exhibition will launch on 14 October 2017, World Hospice Palliative Care Day, and run for four weeks. It is on this day that the world speaks out in support of Hospice. You can too.
HPCA had an overwhelmingly heartfelt and generous support from artists all over South Africa. There will be four categories of art:
- · Established artists – professional artists and those who have exhibited/sold previously. Support has been pledged by a wide range of artists ranging from Dylan Lewis and Catherine Timotei to Janko de Beer.
- · Emerging artists – those who have not exhibited before. Many of these artists are donating art in memory of a loved one, or in support of someone currently experiencing palliative care.
- · Art getaways ranging from a stay at Ellerman House or Restaurant Mosaic at The Orient with an art tour, to culinary art experiences from the Belmond Mount Nelson and Four Seasons Westcliff.
- · The Butterfly Collection – the symbol of palliative care is the butterfly. Artists will design a once-off piece depicting the butterfly – a painting, sculpture, jewellery or wire art.
Visit HPCA’s website from 14 October 2017 to view artwork, keep up-to-date and to place your bid.
