Hospice White River is appealing to the community to pledge R50 per month to the NPO on an ongoing basis.
This will help to keep the hospice candle burning.
Although the organisation is supposed to receive funding from the National Lottery Commission, it may not always be forthcoming as it is dependent on application. Therefore the hospice needs to proactively seek alternative funding.
Through the Candle of Compassion campaign, the intention is to encourage donations of just R50 per month (or an amount that is personally affordable). A mere 500 donations of R50 each month would cover a large portion of the organisation’s monthly expenses (currently R75 000) and will enable it to continue doing the valuable work in the community.
So far about 80 pledges per month have been received for which they are immensely grateful.
To make a R50 pledge you can either set up a direct debit or a recurring monthly payment to hospice.
