What is the value/experience you have/find in mentoring?
It is wonderful to see other Hospices around the country and help them implement standards. It is about taking what they do and growing that rather than trying to squeeze them into a mould, a very satisfying experience. We find and share best practices. I also love working with the other mentors who help interpret when in there is doubt. Palliative care is all about team, so this is an extension of that.

What is your experience in surveying?
I have been a surveyor for COHSASA since 2016, I served on the WC-HPCA board with the accreditation portfolio for about 5 years, I have surveyed with COHSASA and with fellow mentors initially doing pre-COHSASA development and surveys but lately working with Star-1 -4 sites which is equally rewarding.
