What are the achievements that you are most proud of?
We take immense pride in being the only organisation of our kind serving the entire Langeberg Municipality.
Recognised as experts in Palliative Care, we continue to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our retention of a prestigious 5-star Pall Care accreditation from APCC and Cohsasa.
In a significant milestone, we have been entrusted with the management of the entire Integrated Home and Community-Based Services across the Langeberg District.
Our transitional care facility, BRAM Care Centre, provides 24-hour nursing support for patients in need of respite or rehabilitation, ensuring compassionate, continuous care.
Responding to a growing need in our community, we established Breede Gardens, a dedicated residential facility for individuals living with dementia.
From humble beginnings—selling clothing from the boot of a car—we have grown into a sustainable enterprise with two thriving shops in Montagu and Robertson, reinforcing our long-term vision.
Above all, we are grateful for our extraordinary team. Their unwavering dedication, even through challenging times of financial constraints, remains the heart of our mission: Improving Quality of Life through Hospice Care and Support.
What are the obstacles that you may have had to overcome to achieve these?
Securing sustainable funding to support essential operational costs, ensuring continued high-quality hospice care for our communities.
Challenging misconceptions that hospice is solely about end-of-life care. Through targeted awareness initiatives, we emphasise its broader role in enhancing quality of life, providing compassionate support, and empowering patients and families throughout their healthcare journey.
What would you still like to achieve?
Transform public understanding of hospice care, highlighting its role in improving quality of life beyond end-of-life support.
Strengthen early referral pathways within our healthcare network to ensure timely access to hospice services.
Address critical transportation needs by replacing aging vehicles worn by rural road conditions, enabling continued outreach to outlying communities.
Offer competitive, sustainable salaries to attract and retain skilled staff, reinforcing the excellence of our care.
Boost revenue streams from our hospice shops, ensuring they remain a vital support for our operations.
Develop and grow a thriving bequest programme, creating a lasting impact through legacy giving.
Move towards greater financial independence, reducing reliance on corporate donors while building long-term sustainability.
