What are the achievements that you are most proud of?

One of the achievements we are most proud of is the successful rebranding of our organisation. Rebranding is always a big step. It’s not just about changing your visual identity, such as the name, or logo, or website, but it’s about asking some big questions. Who are we? Who do we serve? And how do we make sure more people understand the value of palliative care?

What are the obstacles that you may have had to overcome to achieve these?

One of the biggest obstacles we face is shifting the public perception of who we are and of palliative and hospice care more generally. For many, the term “hospice” brings fear or a sense of finality. Yet our work has always been about comfort and quality of life. Internally, guiding a team through change meant investing time in thoughtful planning and communication. We had to ensure branding was implemented consistently, and everyone at the organisation understood and believed in the purpose behind the change. We want to ensure Greendale House is not just a new name, but a stronger, more unified organisation.

What would you still like to achieve?

We are eager to expand access to our services, especially in communities that have been historically underserved. We also hope to deepen public understanding of what palliative care truly means. We want more people to feel supported, informed and unafraid when they come through our doors.

What assistance would assist you in achieving this?

To reach these goals, we need greater public awareness, increased financial support and strategic partnerships that share our values. Strengthening relationships with healthcare providers, funders and local organisations will be key to making this vision a reality.
