What are the achievements that you are most proud of?
Expanding Our Reach: We successfully relocated our charity shop in Grahamstown, creating a secure and welcoming space for both shoppers and donors. Our Port Alfred operations have also moved to a more accessible location, offering better parking and an upgraded, stylish charity shop for our supporters.
Empowering Our Caregivers: Our nursing team continues to strengthen their expertise in palliative care, with 4 nurses having completed specialised training and another currently enrolled to complete the Certificate Course in Palliative Nursing. This ensures that we provide the highest quality of compassionate care to those in need.
Rebranding for a Stronger Identity: Our recent rebranding reflects the full scope of services we provide in both palliative and hospice care, reinforcing our mission and vision for the future.
Strengthening Community Healthcare: Through a key partnership with the Department of Health, we are helping to establish and manage adherence clubs, ensuring that patients receive and take the medication they need for better health outcomes. We are also working closely with all municipal clinics to assist with screening and tracing.
What are the obstacles that you may have had to overcome to achieve these?
One of our greatest challenges was navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. During a time of uncertainty and immense risk, our incredible clinical team remained on the frontlines, ensuring that patients in need continued to receive care. Their dedication and resilience through one of the most difficult periods in recent history is an achievement we are deeply proud of.
What would you still like to achieve?
Sustainability is at the heart of our next chapter. To continue providing quality care.
Additionally, we aim to transition our patient record-keeping system to an electronic platform, improving efficiency and ensuring better continuity of care.
What assistance would assist you in achieving this?
We need to strengthen our corporate partnerships, ensuring long-term financial support that allows us to grow and serve more people.
We seek assistance and guidance from IT specialists who can help us implement a secure and effective digital system.
