Turning the finances around from zero investment, to a very solid investment.
Steering safely through a retrenchment process, with very little trauma where more staff opted for voluntary packages and retirement, than active retrenchments.
Cleaning up the expenses, making the organisation more lean, and cost effective.
Embracing information technology. Digitizing.
Re established the organisation’s 4 star accreditation status
Changed the staff morale from negative and hostile to positive and productive.
Changed the charity shop image from dirty and neglected to a pleasant shopping experience, while increasing shop turnover 100%.
What are the obstacles that you may have had to overcome to achieve these?
The achievements mentioned above also indicate the obstacles which had to be addressed or had to be faced to get the desired results. Hard decisions had to be made. Many restorations sessions with staff to restore trust, Put in place very strict rules to combat theft from the shop. Taking a lot of time and effort to train staff in understanding customer service and the reason for the Hospice existence , namely Patient Care.
What would you still like to achieve?
To achieve 5-star status and COHSASA accreditation to ensure excellence and recognition in palliative care standards.
Establishing satellite care centres to expand reach and provide accessible services across more communities.
To become fully self-sustaining to ensure long-term stability and independence in operations.

Guidance and mentoring to successfully achieve accreditation and elevate care standards.
Securing a substantial donation or bequest to facilitate the purchase of property for satellite care facilities, ensuring expanded services and accessibility.
