What are the achievements that you are most proud of?

Zazen opened its doors on 9 January 2024 and and has already helped more than 150 people on their palliative journey.

What are the obstacles that you may have had to overcome to achieve these?

As a new palliative care centre, we’ve had to engage providers and the community to let them know we exist and the eligibility criteria for palliative care. This has taken time to build trust and networks.

What would you still like to achieve?

• We would like to purchase hospital beds as currently we rent ours which is expensive.
• We would also like to employ more nursing staff as our patient demand grows.

What assistance would assist you in achieving this?

We endevour to be a financially sustainable organisation, which is not reliant on donations to survive. However, donations go a long way to help us augment our services and so financial support remains the most meaningful way to show your support and appreciation for palliative care.
