1. Why did you decide to focus on palliative care?

I chose to care since I was little.

2. What gives you the greatest fulfilment?

I just love to work in a team with others to care for the sick and the dying patients and their families

3. What do you find the most challenging?

Emotionally challenging for me is when a patient that you cared for and build a relationship over a period die.

4. What is your advice to anyone given a life-threatening diagnosis?

Do not lose hope, trust the medical team of doctors and nurses.

5. What is your advice to the loved ones of anyone who is given a life-threatening diagnosis?

I strive to advise the families and the community to live healthy to take healthy meals and not to be stressed.

 6. What do you like the most about the hospice that you work with?

I love the team at Zululand Hospice as they appreciate what I do and we learn and work together. The care, food, and medication that we give can give hope to any patient admitted into our hospice.

7. Do you have a “motto” that you tend to live by that you would like to share?

Never lose hope, hospice is there for you.
