Duduza Care Center

How has mentoring from the APCC helped you and your team in your day-to-day work?

“The Association has helped us as an organisation to grow in the knowledge needed to provide palliative care and opened our eyes to new stages of opportunity and strength through the policies that enabled us to be granted a star 2 membership.

Our Management and professional nurses are grateful for the funding that was provided by APCC for Palliative care Trainings at Highway Hospice. Without the support of APCC as an organisation we wouldn’t manage on our own. As a result, we are proud of the quality care that our Nurses and caregivers are providing to patients through the guidance of palliative care in-service trainings that we conduct from time to time and for the smooth running of the organisation, we are grateful for the in-depth insight APCC is providing.

Thank you for the first training material for multidisciplinary teams, community health workers and Traditional Health Practitioners which was rolled out throughout the district to the extent that we got a title of being Palliative Care Champions by uMzinyathi District. Furthermore, this led us to be given an opportunity by one of the colleges in Ladysmith to provide practical training to their students and that benefitted our organisation financially.

We are very grateful to the APCC for initiating HDMS as we are confident that every tiny bit of patient information is captured and easily accessed ; especially for Annual General Meetings.”
